Dear.....

Dear Whomever It Was That Bitched About The Salvation Army Bellringer Bells,

Thanks. I don't know who you are but thanks bunches. You bellyached about the "noise" those bells make and now the ringers can't ring them. So you know what they're doing now? They're singing. Now, singing would be lovely.......if it wasn't in a mall. If the singer could carry a tune in a bucket. If there wasn't a massive echo that carried that tuneless song all throughout the main floor of the mall, and wafting up through the third floor.

Can they ring the bells again? Please? It wasn't nearly as bad as that man singing in my office building/mall today - there's no way on this planet that those bells were as bad as that singing. Please tell them to ring the bells again. Please. My ears are bleeding.

Woefully yours,

Alberta Girl

Observations from the Train

Yikes, I haven't been here for a while. Sorry. Things have been insane with work - it's very busy and I'm exhausted. Speaking of exhaustion....I have an observation.

I drive to the city and then jump on the commuter train to get downtown to the office. We are, I have decided, a nation of sleep deprived individuals. Every morning and every evening, this is what I see:

Standing, sitting, leaning - lots and lots of people sleeping. I'm tired but I've not gotten so tired (YET!) that I can fall asleep on the train. Too noisy and too squishy. But all around me, people are snoozing. I'd be too scared to miss my stop too.

Every once in a while, that really evil part of me things about fake sneezing, really really loudly......my bad.

First Day

I've been mostly absent the past couple of days, getting everything and everyone ready for my new job starting. It's been a madhouse, to put it mildly. Yesterday and Thursday were the worst - I get why yesterday was nuts but for the life of me, I can't figure out why Thursday was so crazy. Oh well - we got it done and got through it.

I started this morning. I felt like a fish out of water most of the day but after a little downtime to relax and breathe, I am well confident that this is a job I can do and once I've been fully trained, could probably do with one hand tied behind my back. It will just be a matter of learning procedures and protocols and applying those correctly.

At least it wasn't boring. :)

Tis the Season

And no....I don't mean, hey it's almost Christmas. I mean, tis the season for the pukes and the hurlies. I woke up with a tummyache. Thought it was just something I ate. Pfft. No such luck.

Just what I don't need 3 days before starting my new job.

1 More Day

1 more day and NaBloPoMo is over. It's been a good experience for me, for the most part. It got me into a routine and for the first time ever, I got a blog up and had more than 5 posts on it, lol. Even if I don't ever go past this month with my blogging, I count it a win anyway, that I did it and stuck with it for the whole month.

Sure, there have been some days where it was hard to get something down, especially if I wasn't feeling good, which has been the case lately. Some posts were fun, some were completely uninspired and I resorted to sheer laziness.

But I've done it. If I don't forget to post tomorrow, that is. I start a brand new job on Monday morning and so tomorrow I've slotted in as "dry run" time, so that I've got my commute times down pat (drive to the city, hop the LRT/C-train) and to pick up my LRT month pass. Then it's off to do a little shopping, have lunch with a friend and home for the usual evening family duties.

So.....I'll be seeing you tomorrow. I hope.
